Eternal Fanfare

This fanfare is written for 6 trumpets, with a group of three on the left, and three on the right. Each instrument has an important part to play, and the melody shifts around from side to side, resulting in an interesting stereo image.

At the core of the music is a series of four-note fragments, which are reminiscent of chiming bells. This idea is heard several times, while being interleaved by contrasting sections of punchy repeated notes and brassy flourishes.
